Never ask “what did we decide?” again

Engineers are great at surfacing problems and proposing solutions. But decisions don’t get made in documents or Github — they get made in Murmur.

But don't take it from us...

If you just want to talk about it, have a meeting. If you want a decision made, put it in Murmur.
Stephen Reed
Head of Delivery
Murmur is the tool that's helped glue together the principals of decision making that we wanted to have. It's made the decision making process transparent, clean, easy, fun and successful.

I'd recommend the tool to others who are looking to simplify the way they make decisions. The two killer features for me are the "safe to try" pathways and that agreements expire & can be re-assessed to prevent them becoming stale.

It's now if you just want to talk about it have a meeting, if you want a decision made on it "put it in Murmur".

Murmur is enabling us to make sure everyone understands what we are doing from a process perspective, and more importantly why we are doing it.

Managing Partner at Stacked Analytics
I love what Murmur is doing for our organization. Murmur is enabling us to make sure everyone understands what we are doing from a process perspective, and more importantly why we are doing it. As a fast growing company we are constantly needing to make sure we are making excellent choices for the long term, and Murmur makes creating standards and process transparent. This is giving us much better alignment on what really matters as we grow. So often this work is constrained to a small team at the top, and with Murmur we are getting input that makes our operations work smoothly and is better understood by everyone.

Everyone on the team quickly came to see the value of the Murmur method: fewer meetings derailed by decision-making minutiae.

As a co-owner of a startup worker cooperative, I needed something that would help us make crystal-clear agreements without relying on a manager or CEO. Murmur has been so easy to use—even though it was unfamiliar at first, everyone on the team quickly came to see the value of the Murmur method: fewer meetings derailed by decision-making minutiae, plenty of space for each person to give their input, and no more processes falling through the cracks as the agreements are there for everyone to review anytime.

Murmur has been the answer to our prayers — a platform that finally makes it easy to develop and update our working agreements.

After muddling along with shared docs over a number of years, Murmur has been the answer to our prayers - a platform that finally makes it easy to develop and update our working agreements. The best part for us has been the way the platform keeps the process moving - over the space of just a few agreements going through the Murmur process, we've seen a real shift in mindset within our team from 'we need to wait for everyone to weigh in / approve' (which gets slow!) to 'if you care enough to weigh in, make sure you do... if not, things are moving forward'. It's still early days for us, but we're excited about further integrating Murmur into our team's workflows.

I highly recommend Murmur to any team that gets 'stuck' working.

COO of Chaia Tacos
It's been wonderful using Murmur. It's allowed my team to understand and agree at the same pace. I highly recommend Murmur to any team that gets 'stuck' working. As you use Murmur more, proposers slow down to make sure what they are asking is clear and the rest of the team a safe space to question and make suggestions without the pressure of time and other teammates.

Decisions, not documents.

Murmur doesn't have static documents. It has a process — for decisions about code reviews, bug squashes, and everything in between.

Murmur helps you make async decisions across all your engineering teams

Elevate everyone’s ideas

Developers burnout when they don’t believe things will change.

Invite your team to propose and activate solutions to the issues they care about most — so everyone is involved in making change happen.

Move forward faster

Waiting for consensus leaves new features in limbo.

Align your team through a 3-round process that asks everyone: “Is this safe to try?” — so even when you disagree, you're always shipping improvements.

Keep decisions fresh

No one should have to deal with outdated sh*t.

Set an expiration date, collect feedback, and propose changes to decisions — so your team is constantly learning and consistently improving.

Without Murmur...

No process: just a jumbled mess of comments
No time limit: chase people until you give up or they do
No expiration: decisions are never (ever) revisited
No learning: never look back to see how things turned out
No focus: decisions get lost in a sea of documentation

With Murmur...

Process: ask questions, offer suggestions, make a decision
Time limit: the process moves on with or without the laggards
Expiration: extend, change, or archive on your chosen rhythm
Learning: collect feedback, then propose changes
Focus: a single source of truth for all your decisions

Yeah, but we already have Slack, email, Teams, Threads?

Let’s be honest. These tools suck when it comes to making important, inclusive decisions — fast, and without a meeting.

Murmur users make important decisions in half the time, working together to build better run and happier engineering teams.
