Josh was totally right about the WHITEOUT trailer. Makes it look like an alien invasion movie. Bizarre.

Also, Tom Skerritt has moved beyond the mustache to the a full beard. Disappointing.

Nice podcast -- this is my first time listening. I'm impressed by how much you covered, and I'll definitely spread the word.

Re: "Shutter Island", it's based on a novel by Dennis Lehane who also wrote "Mystic River" and "Gone Baby Gone," which could explain Scorsese's interest. It's not one of his better novels but I remember thinking it would be a good movie, and it's more in the vein of a twisty psychological thriller than straight-up horror; possibly they just cut the trailer to look that way to try and draw an audience in? I'm planning to see it, but then, I'm an unapologetic Leo fan. I didn't much like "The Departed," though, so I could go either way.

The film Avatar is really bugging me. There is very little photos of it out, no trailers, and it's all just James Cameron saying how incredible this film will be.

Part of me likes it how much of a secret this is. So that there's no spoilers and when we finally see the product it will be original. But another part of me wants to see actual footage of it. Cause there's nothing I hate more then someone overhype a film. Especially with no proof to show.

Wow! Someone actually missed the hub-bub of the Avatar trailer premiere. Here you go: http://bit.ly/17UPSf

Isn't the Sherlock Holmes movie actually based off a recent Holmes comic book?

That Mike Judge movie looked really interesting. I liked Office Space because it was (Mostly) a realistic comedy. There were some offbeat moments and dream sequences, but it was a great take at the cubical life.

Then I see this 'Extract' trailer and for the most part I liked what I saw. Then I see Bateman blow out (what I assume is) pot smoke for a good full minute in the trailer. Then I lost all interest with the picture. That's something I would see in a Scary Movie rip off.

I hate bad pot jokes. They annoy the shit out of me. But that joke makes me laugh every time I see it.

Well the more I see the trailer the less interested I get in it. Not so much cause of the pot smoke joke, but that still bothers me.

Also, about Mike Judge, he gets super duper pass for KOTH, and why does everyone forget Beevus and butthead?!

I love mad men so. I'm really excited for this season as it seems they are returning to more of the office dynamic, and less focusing completley on Don.

There's this, Bronson, that I just found out is getting a US release in October. There's a trailer up and running on Hulu. But I remember seeing this way cooler cut trailer with like a depeche mode song or something playing underneath it and it's directed by the guy who shot the much ballyhooed Pusher trilogy. Anyway, get excited, cause I think it's going to be great...

I'm with Josh on Wild Things - I have no nostalgic association with the book but I feel like I do now. The response is completely artificial. Still, I'm gonna give it a shot.

Fantastic Mr Fox, however, is a book I loved as a kid, I must have read it 10 times. I was a huge Roald Dahl fan, and squealed with giddy glee when I saw this trailer.

As long as Bateman can keep on getting away with being Bateman, I'm willing to watch it. Same with Michael Cera, even if most of my friends are sick of him playing the same part. I will also watch aything with Will Arnett, David Cross or Tony Hale. Man, I love Arrested Development.

"Cemetary Junction" is the Gervais/Merchant film, and it looks so much better than Invention Of Lying, which I am probably going to avoid.

The trailer for Avatar can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYBRFJ9RArc

I'm curious what your definition of "good" is?

(A serious, not snarky question)

No love for the Imagination of Dr. Parnassus?

I can't wait for The Road though! I've been waiting and waiting....and even waited some more. Best novel I read in a long time and the trailer really showed it was dedicated to the text.

I was thinking the same thing, waiting for the Parnassus mention. Then again the trailer isn't on apple or any major site, the one I put up on the ifanboy thread was the international trailer. So just in case

And I'm excited for the Road as well.
