This is a great discussion! I don't have a lot to add because it's been so long since I read the book, but I appreciated the lively conversation, and I was surprised how many parts I remembered vividly as you were discussing them.
I will say that I knew almost nothing about comics when I read the book -- I was generally familiar with the Superman origin story and with the Wertham scare, just from cultural osmosis, but I didn't know the dates, names or details -- but they all fit seamlessly into the story.
As far as the next discussion, I already bought 'Stiff' on Kindle, but I don't know if I can deal with the subject matter, so I might try one of her other books first/instead. Keep up the great work with this!
